Buyers still mix FOB and CIF. FOB Qingdao is the truck loaded at the Chinese port. CIF Lagos adds ocean freight and insurance to the discharge port. It does not pay SONCAP, duty, clearing, or the truck park after the vessel opens.
What we put on a CIF quote
- The named chassis or trailer serial
- Ocean (Ro-Ro or container) to Lagos or Onne
- Insurance, usually 110% of invoice value
What you still pay locally
Duty, clearing agent, port storage, and inland transport. Transit after sailing is commonly 25–40 days to West Africa. Yard work in Liangshan sits in front of that clock.
